Slow Boats and Petrified Goats is my newest book. It looks back upon the overland journeys, mostly using public transport, that I made in Africa. It’s much more than a recounting of more youthful adventures since I’ve added numerous, important contexts and critical reflections on my actions and assumptions. Frontier Mosaic is about the people who inhabit the hauntingly beautiful but conflict-ridden Thai-Myanmar borderlands. You’ll meet a gemstone trader, a refugee teacher, an armed ethnic soldier, locally trained medics, a sex-worker, and mothers living in a camp for the internally displaced, among many others. Devotional Trails is a photo book, a visual remembrance of walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage trail across northern Spain from the French border to the Atlantic Ocean.
